Samael Aun Weor was a spiritual teacher and author who founded the Gnostic Movement. He was born in Colombia in 1917 and studied various esoteric traditions throughout his life. He claimed to have achieved a state of enlightenment and sought to share his insights with others through his teachings and writings. Aun Weor believed that spiritual development was a fundamental part of human existence and that people could achieve a higher state of consciousness through various practices, including meditation, self-reflection, and sexual transmutation. His teachings have influenced many people around the world and continue to be studied and practiced by followers of the Gnostic Movement.
According to Samael Aun Weor, religions are unique expressions of unchanging, eternal values. Although religions may be born and die in time, their spiritual values remain eternal. When a religious form has fulfilled its purpose, it begins to decline and dies, after which a new messenger appears who delivers a doctrine appropriate for the culture. As different cultures have different developmental needs, this results in a vast array of religious doctrines. However, if one understands their core values, all religions naturally support each other.
Aun Weor asserts that any authentic religion possesses what are known as "The Three Factors of the Revolution of the Consciousness," which are practical aspects of daily life. These factors are:
Aun Weor highlights that the first of these factors is the most important. Any teaching that is missing any one of these components is considered incomplete or degenerate.
According to Samael Aun Weor, the three energy centers are related to what is known in various spiritual traditions as the Trinity, Trimurti, or threefoldness of creation. The intellect is related to the Father (Kether) and represents affirmation and positivity. The emotion is related to the Son (Chokmah) and represents denial and negation. The sexual center is related to the Holy Spirit (Binah) and represents reconciliation and neutrality. Aun Weor suggests that the primary energy of the intellectual brain, or Father, is air, which is then placed in the bloodstream and related to the emotional brain, or Son. Lastly, the final condensation of blood is found in the semen or sexual hormones, which are directly related to the Holy Spirit, or that which impregnates or manifests creation, also known as Shakti.
According to Samael Aun Weor, psychological aggregates form in one of three energy centers: the intellectual centre, the emotional centre, and the motor-instinctual-sexual center. There are three fundamental defects associated with these centres, which are collectively referred to as the "Three Traitors" or “The 3 Furies The demon of the mind is related to the intellectual center, the demon of desire is related to the emotional centre, and the demon of evil will is related to the motor-instinctual-sexual centre. Many references to religion are found that are held to symbolize the Three Traitors, such as Judas, Pilate, and Caiaphas who crucify Jesus; Jubela, Jubelo, and Jubelum who murder Hiram Abiff; Seth in the form of the serpent Apophis and its two monstrous helpers Sebau and Nak murders Osiris; the three Furies who attack Orestes; and the three daughters of Mara who attack Gautama Buddha and who are conquered through right Thinking (Intellectual Center), right Feeling (Emotional Center), and right Action (Motor-Instinctual-Sexual Center) (see Noble Eightfold Path).
In Greek mythology, the Three Furies, also known as the Erinyes, were goddesses of vengeance and retribution. They were said to be born from the blood of Uranus when he was castrated by his son Cronus. The three Furies were:
