The Riddle of Spiritual Growth - An introduction to Pathworking with Christianity

It may seem strange to include a Christian section amongst these tables, but many of the practices and practitioners of magic in Europe, for the last two millennium, were of course Christian. Many of the saints and Doctors of the Church have contributed extensively to the literature of demonology and angelology and even magic.

Christianity is one of the world's major monotheistic religions, originating in the 1st century AD in what is now Israel. It is based on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, whom Christians believe is the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Hebrew Scriptures, or Old Testament.

Christianity began as a sect within Judaism, with Jesus and all his earliest followers being Jews. After Jesus' crucifixion and reported resurrection, his disciples spread the news of his teachings and the events of his life to communities across the Middle East, including Gentiles (non-Jews).

Over the first few centuries AD, Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire, despite periods of intense persecution. It gradually evolved and split into several distinct branches, including the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, and various groups of Protestant churches, each with their own interpretations of Christian theology and practice.
