Solfeggio Scale – A Cabinet of Qabalistic Curiosities
The Solfeggio frequencies are a set of tones used in music therapy to promote healing and relaxation. They are based on a 6-tone scale that was used in ancient Gregorian chants, and each tone is said to have a specific healing effect on the mind and body. The frequencies are:
There are several theories about the origins of the Solfeggio frequencies, but their discovery is often attributed to a Benedictine monk named Guido d'Arezzo. He is said to have developed the hexachord system, which used a six-note scale for teaching singing and sight-reading. Over time, the hexachord system evolved into what is known today as the Solfeggio frequencies. However, it should be noted that there is limited scientific evidence to support the claims about the healing effects of these tones.
There is a popular theory that the Solfeggio frequencies were lost for centuries, until they were rediscovered in the 1970s by Dr. Joseph Puleo. According to this theory, Puleo found the frequencies encoded in the Book of Numbers in the Bible. However, it should be noted that there is no historical evidence to support this claim.
The Solfeggio tones are sometimes said to correspond to the seven chakras, but this claim is not universally accepted and lacks scientific evidence. Given that the chakras are believed to be 5th dimensional energy centres and not visible in a 3-dimensional world, it could explain why there is a lack of scientific evidence to support claims about the relationship between the Solfeggio frequencies and the chakras.
I listened to each of these regularly for a period of four or five months while combining with meditation and deep breathing and triggered a kundalini awakening.
