This exercise helps aspiring occultists become familiar with the archetypal energies found in the mystical Tarot. It opens one to both the symbolism and occult powers of the cards. With daily practice, this method develops visualization and basic scrying abilities. Meditation with the Major Arcana can bring helpful energies into one's life and serves as a prerequisite for pathworking.

Step 1 Begin by performing the Four Fold Breath while relaxing all muscles in your body. You may also include a ritual cleansing bath with a few drops of essential oil or salt.

Step 2 Perform the L.B.R.P.

Step 3 Shuffle the Major Arcana cards and select one card at random, or work through them systematically. Set aside the remaining cards.

Step 4 Return to the Four Fold Breath, calming and emptying your mind.

Step 5 Study the selected card. Do not project your consciousness into it—simply observe every detail.

Step 6 Close your eyes and visualize the card with all its details in your mind's eye. Slowly dismantle the image piece by piece, like a jigsaw puzzle, until your mind becomes a blank white screen.

Step 7 When your mind has been cleared of its inner voice and becomes blank, hold that emptiness as long as possible. Once the inner voice (the voice of the ego) has truly fallen silent, important spiritual information may arise.

Step 8 Closing L.B.R.P.

This meditation yields powerful results. A Neophyte of the Order will progress rapidly by practicing it at least three times weekly. Consider performing your L.B.R.P., then taking a warm bath and meditating while lying in the tub. This approach is deeply relaxing and tends to induce profound mental states.
